Handbag Manufacturer Announces Holiday Boutique Event to Help Rebuild the Lives of Tsunami Victims
Irvine, CA (PRWeb) November 22, 2006 -- Laga Designs International Inc. is pleased to announce the Laga Handbags Open House and Holiday Boutique on November 26, 2006. Participants will save 31 percent on all purchases, while helping survivors of the Asian Tsunami disaster near Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia.
We firmly believe that it is possible to feel good by doing good -- a statement that is at the very heart of Laga Handbags, says Roy van Broekhuizen, co-founder of Laga Designs International. Weve received an overwhelming response to our fine products and were confident of seeing much more positive feedback at our Open House.
The Open House and Holiday Boutique runs from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, at 40 Summerfield, Irvine, Calif. Customers save 31 percent off all products, from exquisite jewelry to a range of embroidered and beaded handbags and travel bags. In addition, refreshments will be provided, as well as, music, an exciting exclusive show, and a raffle.
Laga Designs slogan is, appropriately, Handbags helping people, and a generous portion of all profits go towards a cause very close to van Broekhuizens heart -- helping Banda Aceh families get back on their feet after their livelihoods were destroyed by the 2004 Asian Tsunami. Van Broekhuizen, who just finished his 16th trip to Indonesia since January 2005, found that he was unable to leave without setting up a more long-lasting, sustainable stream of income for Banda Acehs residents.
Laga handbags are durable, distinctive and elegant, made by skilled artisans whom van Broekhuizen discovered in villages in Aceh. Even the name Laga comes from the Acehnese word Lagak, which is the word for beautiful in the Acehnese dialect.
Laga keeps up with the latest trends and works them into its designs to create a harmony of contemporary and traditional products.
We formed Laga Designs International to provide income for those who lost their livelihood, but what transpired is much, much more, says Louise van Broekhuizen, Roys wife. We developed a personal relationship with the people of Aceh, and we left our hearts in their homes.
