Lifeclinic International Inc., World's Leading Manufacturer and Distributor of Automated Health Testing Kiosks, Unveils its Latest Consumer Direct He
Burtonsville, MD (PRWEB) July 6, 2007 -- Lifeclinic International, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer and distributor of automated health testing kiosks, will be exhibiting its latest consumer healthcare technology, an electronic catalog of healthcare products available on Lifeclinic's LC520 health station kiosk, at McKesson's Pharmacy Strategies Conference & Trade Show, July 8-10, 2007, in Boston.
The e-catalog has been developed with McKesson and will initially contain products from 13 categories. In an effort to help alleviate pharmacy shelf space, the e-catalog will display mostly bulky or low-turnover products. The e-catalog will contain detailed descriptive information, a high-resolution picture, as well as current inventory availability for each item. Once the customer selects their products via the kiosk's touch screen, an itemized order will be printed and the customer will be prompted to bring the printed receipt to the pharmacy counter to pay for and complete the order.
The pharmacist or technician can review it and, if necessary, modify the order with the customer. All items contain the McKesson item number and retail price along with an order barcode for easy input by pharmacy staff. The customer uses the existing pharmacy point-of-sale system for payment. Initially, all transactions will be cash or credit card only; however, the ability to facilitate insurance reimbursements will be implemented in the future. Items will be shipped from McKesson's Home Health Care distribution centers to either the store or to the customer's home. McKesson will ship the items and bill the pharmacy for the items shipped.
The system is designed with flexibility to allow each individual store or pharmacy chain to decide which specific items to carry in the e-catalog and whether to use a suggested retail price or their own individual retail pricing.
Lifeclinic and McKesson expect to initially pilot the e-catalog functionality with McKesson's HealthMart pharmacy locations beginning in the 3rd quarter. A number of pharmacy chains have expressed interest in Lifeclinic's health stations e-catalog potential for their stores.
The Lifeclinic e-catalog is another important step in providing a complete disease management platform that utilizes information, monitoring and content to help individual consumers actively manage their health.

Medical Device Manufacturer Debuts New Hybrid Design
Originally conceived over twenty years ago, penile traction devices are designed to treat Peyronie?s disease, defined as an abnormal curvature of the penis. More recently this same medical technology has become increasingly popular as an alternative method to enlarge the penis. Traditionally, these types of extenders use spring tension to apply the traction force and use either a silicone band or strap to hold the penis in place. The method of fixation is often the main, sometimes only, difference between many popular types of penis extenders. The type of extender that includes the silicone band is sometimes referred to as the ?classical? extender since the simple design has often been imitated. Since the rigidity of the silicone band has b...
